Join us this February 21-23rd, to partake in the first hackathon of the year, held at Sun Devil Stadium, EmergenTech! EmergenTech is an event centered around multiple challenges where participant creativity is able to shine as they will not be restricted by what they can create. All ASU students are welcome to participate, collaborate, and learn from each other in this amazing opportunity to test and explore their skills. Registration is complimentary for all who wish to partake, and free food, prizes, and swag will be available at the event.

To compete, students should be familiar with or eager to learn and experiment with one of the following fields:

-Machine Learning

-Computer Science

-Cloud Computing

-Business Analytics & Modeling

Student teams will be given 36 hours to display their knowledge of virtual reality programming, machine learning, blockchain and the internet of things when designing and developing a prototype model which will in turn be applied to the industries of education, government, healthcare, or international development. Student teams, consisting of 2-5 members, can either be assembled ahead of time or will be matched at the start of the event. To be considered competitive, teams will need to formulate a pitch and prototype that will be judged on technical merits, design, and concept feasibility. Prizes will be awarded to each team member of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning teams. 1st place - Apple Watch Series 5, 2nd place - Bose Soundsport Wireless Headphones, 3rd place - Amazon Echo 3rd Gen.

Students will have the opportunity to network with industry representatives and, in addition to the knowledge acquired by students competing in the challenges, workshops will be facilitated throughout the event to teach students the skills necessary to be competitive.
